The Helicopter Ride

Kaoha nui !!!

What a week! We had a great time with the other Elders in Nuku Hiva trying to build the branch. We took advantage of the time together because now we live on separate islands.

Thursday morning we took a 20 minute helicopter ride over to our island! It was such a cool experience that I never thought could happen for a missionary. I made sure to take lots of pictures, even if they aren't here in the email, I'll show you after the mission haha.

UA HUKA ISLAND

Ua Huka is really dry right now and because of how hot it gets, it looks like I'm back in Arizona haha! There are wild horses everywhere and you have to be careful where you step. Also to close your gate otherwise they come in and eat everything.

The members here are amazing. They are few, but they sacrifice a lot. It's hard to be apart of a branch on another island, that's why our goal is to create Ua Huka's own branch. There is close to 600 people that live here, all of which are quite nice so far. No cannibalism yet (old Marquisian culture)...

It's been a long week, but the next weeks will be hard too. There's lots to set up and do for these people, but it's all going to be worth it.

I hope you all are doing great. It's kinda nice to rarely have service on my island which distracts me from the craziness that seems to be taking place out there. Hopefully you are able to find those moments of peace and joy, even in times like these. Stay safe and buckle up with your faith, I don't think it'll get better soon.

Faaitoito !! Apai!
